Groundwater Monitoring Station for Quarries

Complete system for piezometers and groundwater monitoring in extraction sites

Continuous groundwater table monitoring is mandatory for extraction activities. The solution proposed by Tecnopenta integrates hydrostatic level sensors, data loggers and automatic data transmission, ensuring precision and easy management even in complex operational environments.

Thanks to the solar panel, the station operates autonomously and can be installed quickly in any extraction site.

Main features

Groundwater level monitoring
Hydrostatic level transducers installed inside a piezometer with automatic compensation for continuous and accurate measurements.

Continuous data recording
The data logger records measurements at a configurable frequency and preserves data even without network connection.

Automatic alarms
Email or SMS alerts in case of abnormal variations of the groundwater level.

Automatic and manual modes
Automatic measurements and manual acquisitions available for inspection checks.

Energy autonomy
Operation ensured by the integrated solar panel.

Compliant reporting
Generation of hydrogeological reports compliant with regional and provincial requirements.

Why monitor groundwater in quarries

Veneto Regulations
Regional regulation DGR 213/2022 requires at least 2 m between the excavation bottom and the maximum groundwater level recorded in the last 10 years.

Lombardy Regulations
Provincial Quarry Plans require at least 1 m above the known maximum groundwater level.

Failure to comply may result in sanctions, suspension of activities and authorization difficulties.

Benefits for operators

Regulatory compliance

Continuous monitoring facilitates inspections and authorization procedures.

Reduced operational risk
Timely alarms allow rapid intervention in case of unexpected groundwater variations.

Analysis of groundwater evolution
Historical data help evaluate long-term water level trends.

Reduced operational costs
Fewer field visits and fewer manual measurements required.

Data access through platform
Visualization of water levels, charts and export of hydrogeological data.

Applications

  • Sand quarries and gravel pits
  • Clay quarries
  • Extraction sites with existing piezometers
  • Hydrogeological monitoring for Quarry Plans
