Tecnopenta installs a monitoring system on a monumental check dam with ultrasonic sensor, break-wire trigger and remote alarm transmission

Tecnopenta
has installed a hydrogeological monitoring system on a monumental torrent check dam located along a mountain stream. The intervention aims to ensure continuous structural monitoring and to protect the downstream settlement in an area affected by intense torrential phenomena and sediment transport involving boulders and debris.

The system includes an ultrasonic level sensor, installed above the watercourse, which continuously measures the water level and detects potential debris flows or rapid rises in water height. It is paired with a break-wire sensor, a device capable of automatically reporting abnormal movements or the activation of structural components following impacts or mechanical stress.

Both sensors are connected to a remote data acquisition unit, autonomously powered by a solar panel. The system is designed to operate continuously, even without grid power, and to transmit data to a web-based monitoring platform in real time.

Through the web interface, technicians can review historical data, configure custom alarm thresholds and receive immediate notifications if preset limits are exceeded. This enables prompt emergency management and a more accurate analysis of the hydrogeological processes affecting the area.

The installation further demonstrates Tecnopenta’s commitment to providing risk prevention technologies and environmental monitoring solutions for critical mountain and infrastructure contexts.
