Boutwell Test Permeameter Kit

The permeameter kit is a tool designed to characterize hydraulic conductivity or determine the coefficient of permeability (k) directly in situ.

The system is particularly suitable for falling head tests, ideal for fine-grained soils with low hydraulic conductivity. Use on coarse-grained soils is theoretically possible but involves greater practical challenges.

Kit Components

• Stainless steel cylinder, 100 mm in diameter, sealed at the top with a PVC cap
• PVC cap equipped with fittings and valves for filling, air release, and burette connection
• Two burettes with different capacities for easy readings across various soil types
• Flexible connection tubes for linking the system components
• Auger with diameter compatible with the cylinder for ground insertion
