Permeameter Kit 2.0 for Boutwell Tests
This is an instrumentation kit that allows you to characterize hydraulic conductivity or determine the permeability coefficient (k) directly in situ.
The kit is designed for variable head tests, which are particularly useful for fine-grained soils with low hydraulic conductivity. Performing tests on coarse-grained soils is potentially possible, but it poses implementation challenges.
Kit Components
- A stainless steel cylinder with a diameter of 100 mm, closed at the top by a PVC cap.
- A PVC cap equipped with fittings and taps to facilitate water filling and air venting, and to connect one of the two burettes.
- Two burettes with different capacities for easy reading on various soil types.
- Soft connecting pipes for linking the components.
- An auger with a diameter compatible with the steel cylinder to be driven into the soil.
